Illustration Friday Entry – 2007.

Another one for IllustrationFriday.com, this time the theme was “Open.” Now before I receive any complaints from flower loving people – this is not meant to be a lily. Yes I used a lily as a reference, but the flower itself is significant to Myriddian’s story and completely fictional.

Anyway, lilies don’t grow on thorny vines.

Princesses

A week or so ago, my husband and I set up our studio and invited some lovely ladies from our Church to come and have their photos taken – wearing my costumes! (I’m in the pink dress in the back). My hubby took all the photos and all us ladies just posed and looked pretty for the camera! We’ll probably post more photos at a later date, but I thought I’d at least show one of the group shots and one of me.

Man it was just awesome to see all my creations being worn at the same time. You can see each of the costumes (and more besides) on my website if you’re interested.

Anyhoos, sorry for not posting too much this week. I’ve been in a real writing mood, so art has been placed on the back burner as I work on a manuscript I should have finished long ago.

Also, I’ve transferred the lines for my “HoneyD” artwork to acrylic paper and I hope to at least get him started over the weekend. He’s gonna be A4 now which is roughly 8×11 inches. Will post progress shots as usual as I go. <3

This is what I was inspired to draw for the theme of “The Blues” over at IllustrationFriday.com. It’s my character Myriddian and she’s wearing her mask for once! :O

The Blues – Sketch

A very rough sketch of my character Myriddian – and for those of you that don’t know, she’s wearing a mask to cover the ugly scars on the right side of her face. It’s actually for Illustration Friday’s theme this week of “The Blues” so however I finish this, it’ll have blue somewhere…somehow. I dunno if I’ll get her finished in time, but it’s gonna be fun anyhoos. ^^
