I'm a Christian wife & mother who enjoys depicting the realm of fantasy in paintings, drawings & the written word.
This is painting is full of firsts for me: it’s the first time I’ve painted on canvas, the first time I worked at this bigger size (16×20 inches), and the first time I’ve ever painted a tiger! 
It’s also the right side of a two piece display. There’s a story behind the tiger in this artwork, but I’m not going to talk about it. You can make up your own tale for now. ~_^

I just finished a very yummy lunch and was sitting contentedly at my desk and stumbled onto one of those quiz sites and thought, ‘heh, why not?” ^^

Now I’m off to do some painting. 
I was just looking through some of my favourite pieces by Frank Frazetta recently and no matter how many times I see his work, I am still amazed at how easily his compositions seem to come together! I mean his characters seamlessly fade in and out of the canvas and his background give so much depth with only a few strokes of paint.
Also, I really admire the fact that it doesn’t matter what subject he’s painting – you can clearly see his own style. I adore the texture of his work, I just wish I knew how to make things ‘pop’ from the canvas as he does. I love the roughness too, yet it still looks finished.
This isn’t a ‘woe is me’ blurb, I’m just having a happy ‘awed’ moment and wanted to share. ^^ I just find his work inspiring.
Also, he paints Conan so he’s a winner in my book!

This painting is coming along nicely. ^^ It’s fun to be working at a larger size, in fact it’s the biggest traditional work I have ever done! Anyhoos, the background is pretty much finished and now I just have to work on the layers of fur and stripes. 
(He looks more like a lioness or a cougar at this stage, but the white fur and dark stripes are coming next, along with much fluffiness!) ^^
My first step into the world of painting on canvas! O_O My wonderful hubby bought me an easel so now I can finally paint on canvas – woooooooooties! So here’s the sketch for my very first canvas painting (16×20 inches)!!! He’s going to be a white tiger with a mottled green/blue background I think…I’m not sure yet, I think the background will just come together as I paint.
My five year old son helped me put some of the stripes on, see if you can guess which ones.
Yay!! First one for 2-0-0-8 and it was so much fun! ^^ I used a stock photo by Mizz D as a reference for the pose – thank you!

Shuddup, I know it’s been a long time since I uploaded any kind of artwork, but life’s been busy. 
Anyhoos, this is a partially done acrylic painting of my character Ahlmarai. You can see the sketch here. Will upload more pics as the painting progresses. ^^
1st January 2008
2007 was a year of changes for me in many ways. I finally started to work with a new medium that I had wanted to try for a long time, I made serious progress with one of my novels, I resisted the urge to update my website until now – it lasted a whole year! :O And a few other things in my personal life that I will keep private. ~_^ But overall it was a good year and I feel stronger for experiencing the things I did, both good and bad. Oh, and I turned 29.
Anyhoos, on with the updates!
• A new year and another new layout to boast of, obviously! ^^
• No new artwork for the moment, though there are a few pieces close to completion.

• I’ve removed some older artworks mainly because I feel I’ve moved on and they don’t need to be on display anymore….anywhere.
