My art

With the beginning of the new year I’ve decided I’m going to take a slightly different road with my art. My newest painting The Hunt is kind of an example of what you’ll see from here on in.

Let me explain.

As I look through my gallery I see a mish-moshed-mixed-up bunch of paintings and drawings without anything to connect them to one another. I’m tired of doing quick paintings without proper backgrounds and costumes etc, I want to paint artworks that tell stories! So that when you look at something I do you’re compelled to wonder what’s just off the page, what is the person/creature in the image thinking about? What will they do next? Etc.

So basically there will be far more detail in each artwork I create from this day forward. My updates may be a little less frequent as each artwork will take longer to finish but you’ll see a much higher quality in each artwork I create.
Sketches and WiPs will still be posted here, so I won’t be disappearing completely.

I will still be accepting commissions (for the time being), and you can find more information through my website HoneyDragon.net or on the pages of this blog (see links above).

• 10:11 I’m trying to find this really rare pet in WoW and last night I dreamed I tamed him! So I log in today and yah, just a dream. 8\ *grumbles*

Yeah, you heard me!

Anyhoos, here’s a quick look at a couple of digi pieces I’m working on:

A purdy white tiger.
I don’t know if the green background will stay the way it is…I might do something more foresty, but I’ll see.

Nissan Skyline
A pressie for my brother of his beloved skyline!
Cars are so hard to paint for one who is accustomed to painting living things… e_e
But I will get it done and done GOOD!!!

I’m also very close to finishing an acrylic piece of a centaur I started a while ago, and she’s looking pretty good even if I do say so myself!
But it’s to hot to mess with the scanner so you’ll have to wait until she’s finished before I post her – haha Sah!
